I sewed ...

I sewed this quilt at the park while the kids blew off steam at the end of school.

I packed it into my suitcase to sew while the sun shone on my holiday with a glass of wine at hand.

I photographed my progress on the last day of my holiday before packing it up again to take home.

I sewed it whilst worrying about my beloved sewing companion and nursed her like a baby bird.

And I sewed it to escape the heartache of losing her.

So many memories tied up in this quilt, happy and sad. It is always around waiting for a few extra pieces to be added on. I almost don't want to finish it.

  1. I love that quilts often have many memories sewed up into them. I'm sorry to hear that you've got some sad ones intermingled within it. It's going to another beautiful quilt.

  5. thank you all for your lovely comments, and Mrs Robinson, I hope you are doing OK, sorry to hear about Albert. Kerry is right, they do rather break our hearts, but I think it is worth it.

  12. It's horrible when they go... I think I cried for a week when my little cat was run over (I was pregnant) until I got home from work one day and my husband had decided to rescue two cats in need of a good home! Hope you are okay - maybe there's room for another furry friend soon? It's not the same, but it helps :)
